In les miserables, Hugo shows us the rough life of an ordinary “criminal” Jean Valjean (in fact, Jean Valjeans crime is just smashing glass and stealing a piece of bread). Though Jean Valjeans life was very difficult, he persevered and lived on his perseverance – and in the end, he succeeded. He no longer lives a vagrant life, he has his own home. Jean Valjeans spirit is worthy of our admiration and learning.
